Pan Xiaoting was a Mukbang live streamer, i.e. those influencers who entertain people by eating different types of food in front of the camera. She was earlier a waitress and started this work as a side hustle. When her popularity started increasing, she quit her job and started doing this work full time. When her family started worrying about her health, she got a separate studio for her streaming. She used to get good money and gifts from this work.

As Pan Shaoting’s career progressed, she took her challenges to the extreme. She had to be hospitalized several times due to her profession. At the time of her death, her weight had reached 300 kg i.e. 3 quintals. She had to be hospitalized due to gastric bleeding. After coming out of there, she started taking even more dangerous challenges. She used to eat up to 10 kg of food in one session and kept eating continuously for 10 hours a day. She died during one such session on July 14. Although the reason for this was not officially stated, but according to the Chinese website Sohu, her stomach was full of undigested food and the lower part was deformed.
